BCW Enhancements (V. 4.0) – “What’s New with Building Control Workbench”

More intuitive navigation. Designed around the activities a consulting/specifying engineer is responsible for in any given day. The result ─ information and solutions are easier to find.

Search engine enhancements. Full text search of the Engineering Manual of Automatic Control makes it easier to find application information. A new search entry box has been added to the home page, resulting in an improved process for managing search results.

Enhanced information displays. The “Info Summary” is now the default view, (instead of the “Overview” which was previously the default view). With this change, an “at-a-glance” view of all available information for a particular area of interest is presented first, with all documents hyper-linked from that summary. It also makes navigation faster, as the user no longer needs to wait for the “Overview” document to be downloaded prior to viewing the “Info Summary”.

Add Favorites. Registered users now have their own Favorites folder. Items of interest can be documented ─ and can be re-loaded from any PC. Users must be registered and logged in to use this feature.

Ability to e-mail from “Information Display” window. Clicking on the e-mail icon will automatically create a new e-mail with a URL that when clicked, will take the recipient directly to that piece of information. This makes it easy to share valuable content with colleagues and friends.

Visable Wizard logic trail. The selections made while running either the system or controller wizard, are automatically displayed on the page. This helps answer the question “how did I get here?” It also allows the user easily to toggle back and forth when considering options.

AutoCAD and Visio versions of schematics in the Engineering Manual of Automatic Control (a.k.a. the Gray Manual). Users can now download drawings for editing various mechanical system schematic diagrams. The diagrams are imbedded throughout the Gray Manual, are searchable (search “AutoCAD” or “Visio”) and are listed in the Gray Manual table of contents.
